How to Apply:

Obtain the prescribed Application Format and filled the necessary columns carefully. The prescribed must reach the following address on or before the 8th Apr, 2013.

Eligibility Conditions:

Those who are appointed as Central Vigilance Commission Stenographers Service, Grade ‘D’ or Grade-III employee of the Central Secretariat Stenographers Service, Armed Forces Headquarters Stenographers Service, Stenographers Cadre of Indian Foreign Service, Central Administrative Tribunal Stenographers Service, Court Master, Railway Board Secretariat Stenographers Service, Election Commission of India Stenographers Service are eligible for the exam.

Age:

Upper age should not be more than 50yrs, however,relaxation is provided to SC/ST of 5yrs.         

Examination Scheme:

Part 1:

English Language and Writing skills

General Awareness

Both sections comprises of 100 marks each with total time limit of 120 minutes.

The exam may take place in two shifts when necessary.

Question paper will be bilingual except English section.

1/4th penalty for wrong answers.

The examination mode can be online as per the Commission discretion.

Part 2:

Those who obtain the minimum marks in Part 1 will be entitled to sit in Part 2
Part 2 is a test of Shorthand skill in English or Hindi of candidate.
This consists of total 200 marks where candidate will be given notes provided by commission and it has to be transcribing on computer.

Syllabus of the Examination:

Part 1:

English language: spelling, grammar, antonyms, synonyms, sentence structure, sentence completion, phrases and idiomatic use of words, Vocabulary, passage comprehension.
General Awareness: General Politic, Scientific research, History, Economics, Geography, Science, Culture.

Part 2:

General Candidate will be given English Dictation Test at 100 words/minute for ten minutes and it has to be transcribing on computer at 40 min.

Hindi Dictation Test at 100 words/minute for ten minutes and it has to be transcribing on computer at 55 min.

Visually Handicapped candidate it is 95 minutes for Hindi shorthand and 70 minutes for English shorthand. Dictators will read out the Dictation for VH candidates.

Final selection will be made on the compile score of Part 1 and Part 2.
