SCRA Exam
Railway recruitment board has a very big
department which offers ample opportunities to the lakhs of students who desire
to cater service in railway sector. Special Class Railway Apprentice (SCRA)
exam is basically conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission)
for the recruitment in Mechanical Engineering department Railway Board.For

will put under the apprenticeship of 4years and then after successfully
completion, they will be recruited for the major role/ high designation post in
Railway of India.
Check your Eligibility for the exam:
Eligible students must have pass out 12th (Intermediate) with 50% or 60% marks from any recognized Board or College.
Limitation for Age
Appearing should have age between 17 yrs to 21 yrs.
Criteria of completing registration for SCRA:
It is in two phases: Part 1 and Part 2
which is mandatory to ensure candidate complete registration.
Payment of fees
It can be done either online or offline.
For online payment go through the UPSC site and complete the given instruction.
1. For offline, in any branch of SBI or its associate banks, deposit the sum of 100 Rs. Fees and then filled the rest formalities by visiting UPSC website.
2. SCRA exam schedule: No confirm date is provided yet. But it is supposed to hold in the month of January of 2014.
How to prepare/ Topics of SCRA:
Mainly consist of 3 papers.
Paper 1:
proficiency in English Language, test for psychology, General Awareness/
current Affairs
Paper 2: Physics
and Chemistry
Paper 3:
Mathematics
Detailed description of Subjects
For English language, candidate’s command on English language will be checked,i.e Grammar,
word power, comprehension etc.
For Physics, covered each topic and chapters in class 11 and 12. The same is
applicable for Mathematics section also.
Chemistry will
cover Physical, Organic and Inorganic portions.
General affairs will take up all issues prevalent now-a-days in every field
concern.
Other Important Key points:
Total marks are 600
for written exam which is followed by Personal Interview and test containing 200
marks.
Total time given
to complete written paper (Paper1+Paper2+Paper3) is 120 minutes.
The nature of question is objective type
and will be only in English, so candidate has no other language to
prepare other than English.
