About University
The Board of University was set up by Mr. George Norton who
was then President in Jan 1840 .After the gap of fourteen years, the Indian
Government framed an educational policy under which on 5th Sep, 1857

University model. It has got the affiliation from NAAC, UGC, and AIU. Konijeti
Rosaiah is the Chancellor of the University and Prof. R.Thandavan is the Vice Chancellor

Admission to the Courses:
For Post Graduate Courses like
MBA, M.Sc, M.Phil, M.A, M.Tech, MCA and other diploma for PG courses, applicants
need to sit for the entrance exam as per scheduled set by the University body.
After the conduct of entrance examination, merit list will be prepared
separately for the different category of the students. There will be some other
courses for which the entrance exam is not mandatory.
Important Note:
If in any case, the no. of
applications acknowledged is less than or equal to the allotted strength of seats then in that case University will
hold the right whether to conduct or not
conduct the entrance test.
Eligibility Criteria
for the Admission in PG courses:
Applicants should have completed
study comprising total of 15yrs OR have a degree after 10+2.
For admission in M.Phil (Full
Time) curricula, candidates should have min. 50% in PG degree subject to the
condition that there qualifying year fell before 1Jan, 1991, although who have
passed exam after this date will need to have 55%.
Selection Mode
50% marks are for the CBCS (Choice
Based Credit System) Entrance Examination and rest 50% is on the marks received
by the students in his/her respective qualifying examination. There is further
bifurcation of marks out of 50%marks of Entrance Test, i.e 40% for the written
test and rest 10% is for viva voice.
